HUSK PRODUCTSHUSK PRODUCTS, W. Ratje Froeskaller ApS, manufactures and distributes the products HUSK Psyllium husks (powder and capsules), Husk®fibre and FiberHUSK. The company was founded in 1979 by Esther and Werner Ratje and was in the early years situated in their private home in Copenhagen. The entire family was engaged in the company and great efforts were made to make the product known. In 1988 the company mowed to new premises just outside Copenhagen, where both production and head office still lies today. The company is still a family business; it is owned and run by second generation Bettina Ratje and Michael Ratje. In the years HUSK Psyllium-husks has been on the Danish market, the number of satisfied users has been increasing steadily and it is used by people of all ages. Today it is recommended by doctors, specialists and dieticians all over the country, just as it can be found at all the hospitals. HUSK Psyllium husks, powderHUSK powder consists of dried Psyllium husks from the Indian plant Plantago ovata Forsk. and contains no additives. It can be used for treatment of constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrhoea and for lowering the cholesterol level in the blood. In 1996 HUSK powder was approved as a herbal medicine by the Danish Medicines Agency. Since then the product has been approved in several countries and is today available in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Hungary and Bulgaria. HUSK Psyllium husks, capsulesHUSK capsules consists of pulverised Psyllium husks in vegetable capsules. In 2003 HUSK capsules were launched as a dietary supplement, to be used as a fibre supplement in the daily diet. In 2009 HUSK capsules were approved as a herbal medicine in Denmark, and in 2011 in Iceland, with the same indications as HUSK powder. Today HUSK capsules are available in Denmark and Iceland, and as a dietary supplement in Bulgaria. FiberHUSKFiberHUSK was introduced in 1996 and consists of pulverized Psyllium husks (Plantago ovata Forsk.). FiberHUSK is used in ordinary baking and when cooking to achieve higher fibre content and for baking gluten-free to achieve a better baking result. FiberHUSK is available in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands and Hungary. Husk®fibreIn 2009 Husk®fibre, a fibre product for drinking, was launched. Husk®fibre is a dietary supplement consisting of pulverized Psyllium husks with an added fresh flavour of blackcurrant or lemon. Husk®fibre is available in Danmark and Hungary.
